Creating a Grouping

Creating a Grouping

Groupings fit in a large space but they are also very versatile.  If you move or redecorate and you don't have that big open wall anymore you still have images that go together.  If you just put one big picture on that wall and you no longer have that big open space you have a problem.

Recently a customer contacted me about creating a three piece grouping for her new home.  We worked over email and she started by telling me she liked the Thin Trees Grouping but wasn't sure about Early Morning Fog and Young Orange.  She really liked Fall Glass but wanted to try something different

So we tried replacing Young Orange and Early Morning Fog with a couple different orange fall images.  First was Windblown Orange and Reach.

She and I both agreed that the brighter blue in Windblown Orange didn't work with the other two.  We tried a couple other combinations and she suggested Dancing in the Light.  So I put Early Morning Fog back in the mix and tried Dancing in the Light in the middle.

After a few more combinations she decided on Young Orange, Dancing in the Light and Fall Glass.

We both agreed that it wasn't quite right and she came up with the idea of adding Color in the Fog into the grouping.  And it was perfect.

And they were printed and framed and shipped off to her home where she is very happy with them.
