Anhinga Trail Blue - Vertical Panorama
A great blue heron perches on a patch of reeds in the wetlands, its open beak a bright orange against the muted blues, brown, and green. The rippling water reflects its shape.
The original image was taken in Everglades National Park in Florida, however, great blue herons are one of the most widespread species of wading birds in the Western Hemisphere. They also come in white and can be distinguished from a great egret by their yellow legs.
